Coaching is used to empower individuals to help them reach their goals.  Your coach will listen to you, ask you questions, find out what your challenges are and inspire you to reach your goals.  You will be encouraged to make decisions and to take responsibility for your decisions.

What is it not?

Coaching is not mentoring or counselling and it does not include any suggestions or advice.  If you commence a series of coaching sessions and it becomes clear that coaching is not the correct support mechanism for you at this time, this will be discussed with you so that you can find a suitable solution to support your onward journey.

What is Efficiency Coaching?

Efficiency Coaching is about focusing on helping you to prioritise, plan and organise yourself in such a way that you achieve what you want much faster.  It also helps by making you more aware of your values and your beliefs and how these might help or hinder your progress.  Efficiency coaching enables you to be effective and productive, whilst working towards your goals in life and in work.  

What will happen during a Coaching session?

Your coach will be asking you questions about your goals and aspirations, listening to your responses, taking you through a coaching conversation, whilst remaining non-judgemental.  Following a coaching session you will have your own action plan for your way forward.

Who else will know what has been said?

A Coaching session is confidential.  Only in extreme circumstances would this confidence be breached and this is specified in The Coaching Academy Code of Ethics.  A copy of this is provided before the start of the coaching.

How long do the Coaching sessions last for?

The coaching sessions usually take place fortnightly for one hour, either online or over the phone.

Either four or six sessions are recommended, although additional sessions can be added upon request.  

What does the coach need from me during a session?

To make sure that your time is being well spent with your coach, you are expected to come to the session fully prepared with a goal or aspiration in mind that you would like to work towards.

Preparation is very important for the coaching session and you are encouraged to spend 15 minutes prior to the session taking yourself to an environment where you will not be disturbed to help you to be ready and suitably relaxed for the start of the session.

Coaching is suitable for adults.  Coaching results are not guaranteed and you are responsible for creating your own results.
